PRESS RELEASE
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund Strengthens Commitment to Resilient, Strategic Infrastructure Across the Caribbean
Date: January 2026
For Immediate Release
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund (CIF) today announced the continued expansion of its mandate to support strategic, climate-resilient, and sovereign-aligned infrastructure projects across the Caribbean, working in close partnership with governments, state-owned enterprises, and public institutions throughout the region.
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund is a privately funded infrastructure platform focused on the development and delivery of large-scale, bankable infrastructure assets essential to economic growth, regional connectivity, and long-term resilience in Caribbean states. The platform operates exclusively on a project-by-project basis, aligning private capital and execution expertise with nationally endorsed development priorities.
“Resilient infrastructure is fundamental to the Caribbean’s economic stability, climate adaptation, and regional competitiveness. Caribbean Infrastructure Fund partners with governments and public institutions to help deliver projects of strategic national importance,” a spokesperson for the Fund said.
A Sovereign-Aligned Infrastructure Platform
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund does not raise capital from the public, does not solicit investors, and does not operate as a traditional fundraising vehicle. Instead, it deploys private, non-pooled capital into clearly defined infrastructure projects that are sovereign-endorsed and designed for long-term operational sustainability.
Typical engagement structures include:
Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and Build-Own-Operate (BOO) models
Joint ventures with state-owned or government-linked entities
EPC-anchored developments with long-term operations and maintenance frameworks
Core Infrastructure Focus Areas
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund supports projects across key sectors, including:
Transport & Logistics: ports, airports, maritime terminals, roads, and logistics hubs
Energy & Utilities: power generation, renewable energy, grid resilience, and energy transition projects
Water & Climate Resilience: water supply, desalination, wastewater treatment, and flood-mitigation infrastructure
Digital Infrastructure: broadband connectivity, data infrastructure, and smart-island systems
Tourism & Social Infrastructure: enabling infrastructure supporting sustainable tourism and community development
All projects are subject to rigorous legal, technical, environmental, and financial due diligence, and are developed in accordance with applicable national regulations and internationally recognised best practices.
Institutional Engagement
Caribbean Infrastructure Fund engages exclusively with governments, public authorities, sovereign entities, and qualified project sponsors, following formal mandates, institutional invitations, or official expressions of interest.
